UCF’s Exolith Lab was featured on FOX 13 News for developing realistic lunar soil simulant used to test rover mobility, traction and construction methods needed for future Moon bases. The coverage highlights how this research allows scientists and engineers to prepare equipment for the Moon’s harsh environment on Earth, positioning UCF and Central Florida at the forefront of the technologies required to build and sustain a long-term human presence on the lunar surface.
