ABSTRACT:
As active comets lose volatiles, they can develop crusts and resemble asteroids. Conversely, some asteroids have shown brief activity, hinting at icy origins. This study aims to address this complexity and refine our understanding of such bodies by comprehensively searching for weak cometary activity in archival imaging of dormant comet candidates.
