CONNOR’S BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Connor Westcott is a Research Associate at the Florida Institute of Technology. Working on advanced applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He earned his Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida.
Mr. Westcott has worked on a variety of scientific research projects. His undergraduate research focused on modeling and simulations. Developing code for Discrete Element Modeling to study early planetary formation and ring behaviors, as well as Finite Element Modeling to research lunar volatile extraction.
Graduate and postgraduate research focused on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning systems. These systems ranged from Genetic Algorithms for data compression to real time detection of Mid-infrared spectroscopy detection of organic and non-organic materials in meteorites. Mr. Westcott also worked to build a novel Artificial Intelligence pipeline to detect Pulsars directly from radio telescope feeds.
