ABSTRACT:
NASA’s Artemis Program aims for lunar settlements, requiring ~133 kW for a 4-person base. Molten salt reactors offer scalable, efficient electrical power generation with potential heat co-generation. Unlike solar, nuclear systems provide continuous energy, crucial for surviving the 14-day lunar night. Here, we present initial sizing calculations.
