To ensure the continued contribution of Arecibo Observatory’s scientists to the field of astronomy, planetary and space and atmospheric sciences and science education, while preserving the legacy and spirit of one of the world’s most significant astronomical observatories.
CAMPAIGN GOALS
Fund for Research and Innovation: Support ongoing and new scientific research initiatives led by former Arecibo scientists.
Educational Outreach: Establish programs that utilize the expertise of these scientists to inspire and educate students and the public about space and science.

Continuation Projects: Fund projects that continue the research that was being conducted at Arecibo.

Annual Symposium: Host an annual event focusing on the contributions of Arecibo and its community to science, featuring talks, workshops, and networking opportunities.
PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION
Educational Programs: Leverage the expertise of Arecibo scientists to create educational content and programs for schools and the public.
Traveling Exhibits: Develop exhibits that highlight the achievements of Arecibo Observatory and its scientists, touring schools and science centers.

Begin disbursing funds for programs, and expand outreach efforts to a broader audience.

Establish long-term funding mechanisms and partnerships to ensure ongoing support and continuation of the campaign’s objectives.
The campaign would not only assist individual scientists but also preserve and propagate the extensive scientific heritage of the Arecibo Observatory. This philanthropic effort would underline the importance of supporting scientific communities, especially those impacted by the closure or restructuring of major research facilities.
We continue to support those scientists involved with Arecibo Legacy in past, present, and future ventures.
