Total Solar Eclipse of Aug 21, 2017

FSI Solar Eclipse Experiences

August 21, 2017

This past summer, for the first time since 1918, people in the United States were able to experience a total solar eclipse, crossing the mainland from coast to coast. No total solar eclipse had even touched the continental United States since 1979 and we will have to wait until April 2024 for the next one to happen in North America. On August 21, 2017, the path of totality extended from Oregon to South Carolina. As you might expect of experts in Planetary Science, no one at FSI wanted to miss the opportunity of enjoying this rare spectacle. See the map and links below to read about our experiences.
