REVEALS

As a member of the Solar System Exploration Virtual Research Institute (SSERVI), The Radiation Effects on Volatiles and Exploration of Asteroids and Lunar Surfaces (REVEALS) team will explore the fundamental, applied, and operational aspects correlated with radiation processing of natural regolith and man-made composite materials. The scientific emphasis of the proposed research will focus upon:

  1. Understanding the fundamental condensed matter physics and radiation chemistry leading to volatile formation, sequestration and emission from the Moon, Martian moons (Phobos and Deimos) and NEA. UCF investigators for Theme 1 are: Dr. Bill Kaden, Dr. Chris Bennett.
  1. Developing and testing novel composite materials and real-time radiation detectors based on 2-D materials that will minimize risks and exposure during human exploration missions. UCF investigator for Theme 2 and Deputy Director is: Dr. Esther Beltran.

Dr. Dan Britt is a member of the Board of Advisors. Explore more about REVEALS here.
