On behalf of the Society of Physics Students and the Department of Physics of the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras we invite you to our astronomy symposium “The Hunt for Alien Habitable Planets” to be held on  Friday, March 17  in the Río Piedras (see the attached poster).

It will be an educational event free of cost for the university community and the general public, which will be attended by 3 recognized astronomers, two of whom specialize in extrasolar planets. We have Dr. Sarah Ballard of MIT’s Kavli Institute for Astrophysics, Professor Abel Méndez of UPR Arecibo’s Planetary Habitability Lab, and Dr. Noemi Pinilla-Alonso of the Florida Space Institute. In view of NASA’s recent discovery of 7 new Earth-like exoplanets, the talks are of particular relevance today and popular interest and we would be honored that the SciencePR team was present in the activity. The event will be from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in amphitheater # 4 of the Faculty of General Studies. Our keynote speaker, or main lecturer,
